A Martian tank that appears in the Rugname in the final mission of Metal Slug 3.
Standard attack: A single bouncing green ball. Moderate range. The range of the attack matches the enemy detection range nearly exactly, so the bullet tends to be wasted if the enemy frontline unit is destroyed. Mediocre damage.
Special attack: Three bouncing green balls. Each ball does the same damage as one standard attack.
The standard attack and special attack have exactly the same range (~Normal) despite the misleading ingame descriptors.
Does not do damage when it is destroyed, unlike in Metal Slug 3.
Unlocked in the shop (together with Ring Laser Mecha) after completing World 2, and costs 100 medals.
Tactics[]
Once a common sight in PvP, it is now rare except in Alien affiliation decks. Mars Mecha fares poorly against the common rush units such as Iori and Slug Armor and contributes very little in the late game compared to other walls due its poor damage and slow attacks. It is only good for pure walling, but the prevalence of piercing atacks (mainly Slug Gigant's special) has greatly diminished its usefulness. Even when a wall is needed, players prefer Red Ring Laser Mecha (strong piercing in early game, same cost and slightly more hp) or the Augensterns (can withstand and defeat rush units).
